Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign is being celebrated from 15th September to 2nd October 2023 under the joint aegis of DDWS & MOHUA for undertaking shramdaan activities. Theme of SHS-2023 is ‘Garbage Free India’. The aim and objectives of this programme are: achieving higher order of cleanliness across local bodies by encouraging community participation through activities like shramdaan, organizing swachhata drives across offices and public places such as bus stands, railway stations, tourist spots, zoos, national parks, river fronts etc. in both rural and urban areas.
Under the mission, various activities are being organised by Sainik School Ghorakhal in which all cadets have been enthusiastically participating and contributing immensely. Various campaigns are being conducted to raise awareness about cleanliness and hygiene, emphasising the importance of proper garbage disposal and cleanliness practices.
On 15 Sep.23 a “Swachhata Rally” was organised in which 100 cadets participated. On 16 Sep.23, a group of 20 cadets collected garbage from nearby areas and cleaned the surroundings. A group of 30 cadets had gone to Bhimtal to clean the lake area on 17 Sep.23. On 18 Sep.23, a “Cleanship Drive” was organised to encourage cadets’ participation in cleaning the hostels. 80 cadets contributed to make the hostel area clean. A group of 25 cadets contributed to make the cadets’ mess clean on 19 Sep.23. On 20 Sep. 23, “Swachhata Pledge” was taken by cadets that focused on their commitment towards cleanliness. Propagating the message of “Swachh Bharat Mission”, 20 Cadets cleaned the War Memorial area on 21 Sep.23. 150 Cadets cleaned Raman Block on 22 Sep 23 under the mission. 30 Cadets cleaned Golu Devta Temple area on 23 Sep.23.
Gp Capt VS Dangwal, the Principal appreciated the initiative and motivated the cadets to perform all such activities with sincerity.
