Bhowali: The Annual Day at Sainik School Ghorakhal was a resounding success, filled with vibrant performances and an air of celebration. Students, staff, and parents gathered to witness the display of talent and cultural diversity on Nov 09, 2023.
Shri Ram Singh Kaira, MLA Bhimtal graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Group Captain VS Dangwal received the Chief Guest with warm greetings. The event commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome address and presentation of the school report by the Principal.
The report highlighted the school’s progress and achievement in Academic as well as co- curricular fields ensuring the holistic development of cadets and infrastructure enhancement to provide cadets a conducive environment to further improve NDA entries.
The Cultural Show included a series of captivating performances. The cultural programme was theme based emphasizing and conveying the strong message to audience regarding female foeticide prevailing in the society. In addition, the story revolves around the struggle of a father and daughter to prove her identity. The love and challenges shown in the skit had many emotional outbursts which moved the audience. The enthusiastic audience was treated to mesmerizing performances that left a lasting impression. The school’s commitment to instilling discipline and fostering cultural awareness was evident throughout the day.
The Chief Guest felicitated Cdt Shivraj Singh Pacchai who made the school proud by securing All India Rank 1 in NDA by presenting the souvenir and a shawl. In addition, the Principal of School, Gp Capt VS Dangwal also felicitated Cdt Shivraj Singh Pacchai by presenting him the school memento and cash prize. The Chief Guest awarded prizes to the cadets who showed impressive performance in Academic areas. In his address,the Chief Guest praised the students for their dedication and hard work and commended the performances of cadets. He appreciated the theme of the skit and emphasized the need to save girls to save future. He especially appreciated the ‘Jagar’ ritual presentation by the cadets which is a way in which Gods and local deities are woken from their dormant stage and asked for favors or remedies. “The Annual day not only showcases our students’ talents but also highlights the cultural unity that binds our diverse nation together,” he said.
