Sainik School Ghorakhal hosted the North Zone Football Championship in June 2023 and emerged victorious by defeating Team Nagrota. After this glorious victory,Team Sainik School Ghorakhal proceeded to Sainik School Goalpara, Assam in July 2023 to participate in the Inter-Zonal Football Championship. Teams from different zones participated in this prestigious event. Team Ghorakhal performed well and won Runner-up trophy. Çdt Priyanshu Adhikari was adjudged the ‘Best Goalkeeper’.
The event ‘All India Sainik Schools National Games’ introduced this year only, is considered to be one of the most significant sporting events of the year. The multidisciplinary sporting extravaganza held at different Sainik Schools of the States witnessed teams from different Sainik Schools. Sports enthusiasts and athletes from across the country participated in this mega event. Team Ghorakhal participated in various events in July 2023. The events featured diverse range of sports, including Athletics, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball and other competitions as well like Quiz, Debate and Cultural. Sainik School Ghorakhal cadets made the school proud with their exemplary performances. In addition to promoting sporting excellence, the ‘All India Sainik Schools National Games’ emphasized the importance of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among participants. It had been an intense competition of
breathtaking displays of skills and memorable moments.
Team Sainik School Ghorakhal brought laurels to the
school by achieving victory in many events.
Team Ghorakhal won the Championship Trophy in
Hockey and Athletics. In 100 Mtr Race, Cdt
Beerbhadra was adjudged the ‘Best Runner’. In
4×100 Mtr Relay Race, Team Ghorakhal stood first.
Team consisted of Cdt Anuj Singh Rana, Cdt Lokesh
Rawat,Cdt Saurav Katare and Cdt Abhinav Prasad. In
Basketball and Volleyball, Team Ghorakhal stood
second.
Team Ghorakhal secured first position in English Debate. Cdt Shristi Bameta won the prize for the ‘Best Debater’. In Quiz competition, Team Ghorakhal secured second position. Team Sainik School Ghorakhal proudly lifted ‘Overall Championship’ Trophy at Sainik School Jhunjhunu.
Team members and officials were awarded certificates, trophies and medals for their exceptional achievements.
During the special assembly, Group Captain VS Dangwal appreciated the efforts put in by all participants and encouraged all players to continue honing the values that Games and Sports instill in them.
