Bhowali In a battle of wit and eloquence, Sainik School Ghorakhal hosted Inter-House English Debate Competition, showcasing the intellectual prowess of its cadets. Prof (Dr) MC Lohani, Director, Graphic Era Hill University Bhimtal, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Mrs Sweta Dangwal attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
The event, held on Dec. 11,2023, brought together students from different houses, each vying for the coveted title of “Best Debater.” The participants eloquently delved into thought-provoking discussions and arguments on the topic “Parents’ Expectations and Academic Pressure: A Major Cause of Stress Among Students”.
The competition was marked by passionate arguments, well-researched points, and impressive rhetorical skills. The panel of judges, comprised of Sqn Ldr Prashant Dugar, Mr Alfonso and Mr Upkar Singh. It was really a challenging task of selecting winners among the outstanding contenders.
After intense debating, Kumaon House emerged victorious, securing the first position. The
winning team’s articulate speakers, Cdt Naisha Dangwal (first position -proposition) and
Cdt Jatin Dasila (third position-proposition) demonstrated exceptional oratory skills,
leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Cdt Kartikey Dhapola secured first position
from opposition.
The event not only highlighted the academic excellence of the participants but also served as a platform for fostering critical thinking and public speaking abilities among students. The enthusiastic audience, consisting of fellow students and teachers applauded the participants for their commendable efforts. The Chief Guest shared his views on the topic and appreciated the efforts of all the participants.
The event concluded with the presentation of the school memento to the Chief Guest by Gp Capt VS Dangwal, the Principal.
