Games (Group B)
Sainik School Ghorakhal hosted All India Sainik Schools National Games (Group B) from Aug 13 to Aug 17,2024 which concluded with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The event brought together cadets from five Sainik Schools: Sainik School Ghorakhal, SS Jhansi, SS Jhunjhunu, SS Rewari and Shri Baba Mastnath Sainik School to participate in a wide range of sports, athletic events, and cultural competitions.
The games were inaugurated by Gp Capt VS Dangwal, the Principal, who emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork in shaping the future leaders of the nation. The event featured a diverse array of competitions, including athletics, basketball, volleyball, hockey and other team sports, alongside a series of academic and cultural events that showcased the rich heritage and talent of the cadets.
Cadets competed fiercely, demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and camaraderie. The highlight of the games included the thrilling sports events finals, the electrifying relay races, and the captivating cultural performances that added a unique flavor to the event.
Sainik School Ghorakhal emerged as the overall champion of the games claiming trophies for Hindi debate, English debate, Quiz, basketball,hockey, Athletics and also the proud winner of Co-curricular Activities Trophy. Cadet Kshitij Singh of Sainik School Ghorakhal won the best player award for basketball. Cadet Aditya Nautiyal of Sainik School Ghorakhal won he best player award for hockey. SS Jhunjhunu won the Volleyball Trophy. The trophy for cultural events was won by Sainik School Rewari.
All participating schools displayed outstanding performance in both sports and cultural events. The event not only provided a platform for the cadets to showcase their talents but also fostered a spirit of unity and friendship among the participating schools.
Hon’ble Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. He was given a grand welcome by the school band team playing melodious tunes in perfect harmony reflecting the culture and tradition of Uttarakhand. He was warmly received by Gp Capt VS Dangwal. The closing ceremony was marked by the distribution of awards and accolades to the deserving cadets by esteemed chief guest congratulating all participants for
their efforts and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in all spheres of life. Mr Pradeep Mani Tripathi, Member Secretary Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Mr Abhishek Srivastava, from High Court, Mr Arun Vohra Officer on Special Duty and Lt Colonel Adhikari, Commanding Officer also
graced the occasion. Mrs Sweta Dangwal joined as the Guest of Honour.
The All India Sainik School National Games (Zonals) at Sainik School
Ghorakhal concluded on a high note, leaving behind a legacy of
sportsmanship, teamwork, and cultural exchange. The event served as a
testament to the holistic development that Sainik Schools impart to their
cadets, preparing them to serve the nation with honor and integrity. The Chief
Guest extended his heartfelt congratulations to all winners. He was highly
impressed with the performances of different schools. Gp Capt VS Dangwal
presented a souvenir to the Chief Guest as a token of affection and gratitude.
Special dinner was also organised for staff, cadets and dignitaries.
