Sainik School Ghorakhal celebrated Hindi Pakhwada with great zeal and enthusiasm from 1st September to 14th September 2023 The purpose of the event was to make students realize that Hindi is not just a means of communication, it is a culture and heritage they all should take pride in; as it is the mother tongue only that connects people deeply to their culture and roots. During these two weeks, various competitions were conducted in Hindi like Calligraphy, Recitation and Declamation, Essay Writing, Debate etc. To encourage cadets and to enhance their creativity, an exhibition was also organized where they presented beautiful posters on relevant themes. On 14th of September 2023, debate competition was organized for senior group. Mrs Geetika Joshi, Block Education Officer, Kumaon Region, Nainital graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Mrs Sweta Dangwal attended the function as the Guest of Honour. Kesari House emerged overall winner. Colourful cultural programmes were also organized on the occasion like dance, song and skit showcasing the richness and diversity of Hindi literature. The special attraction of the day was ‘Nukkad Natak’ on the theme of constitution. All the programmes were highly appreciated. While addressing the audience, the Chief Guest appealed to cadets to learn and respect Hindi language while respecting the multilingual fabric of India. Gp Capt VS Dangwal conveyed his good wishes and appreciation to the Head of Hindi Department Mrs Geeta Durgapal and other committee members for their commitment and dedication towards organizing Hindi Pakhwada. The event concluded with the presentation of school memento to the Chief Guest by Gp Capt VS Dangwal. Special lunch was also organized for the distinguished guests and participants.
