Kumaon House Clinches Overall Championship in Inter-House Football Tournament
The much-anticipated Inter-House Football Tournament at Sainik School Ghorakhal concluded on Apr 11, 2026 with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork across all groups.
The tournament drew participation from every House across the junior, middle, senior and girls’ categories, where the cadets demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship, unwavering discipline, and resolute determination on the field. Each encounter was fiercely contested, underscoring the depth of their preparation and the genuine passion they brought to the game.
In the middle group, Kesari House emerged victorious; in the junior group, Singh House claimed the top honours. After a series of thrilling encounters, Kumaon House emerged as the undisputed champion, under the captaincy of Cdt Jigmet C Gyatso, delivering consistent and outstanding performances across all groups. Their coordination, strategic gameplay, and resilience set them apart, earning them the coveted Overall Championship Trophy.
The finals were particularly exciting, drawing enthusiastic support from cadets and staff alike. The players demonstrated high levels of fitness, skill and teamwork, making the tournament a memorable sporting event.
