Bhowali: The closing ceremony of the North Zone Football Championship at Sainik School Ghorakhal was graced by Shri Harish Kumar Goel, Director, Uttarakhand Judicial and Legal Academy on June15. Gp Capt VS Dangwal, Principal Sainik School Ghorakhal received the Chief Guest with warm greetings.
The audience witnessed a very thrilling final match between two equally competent teams: Team Sainik School Ghorakhal and Team Sainik School Nagrota (Junior Category). Sainik School Ghorakhal scored a spectacular win over Sainik School Nagrota by 4-1. In Sub-Junior Group, Team Sainik School Kunjpura defeated Team Sainik School Kapurthala and emerged winner. The Chief Guest was thoroughly impressed to witness a fine display of sportsmanship, camaraderie and team work by the young and vibrant cadets who exhibited unique talents in the football field. It was really an elevating experience. The most fascinating experience was to see the cadets marching with dignity during closing March Past.
Cdt Vikash Kharola from SS Ghorakhal and Cdt Abhijeet Kumar from SS Kunjpura were adjudged the best players in Junior and Sub-Junior Category respectively. The day concluded with the speech by the Chief Guest who appreciated the efforts put in by all participants and encouraged all players to continue honing the values that Games and Sports instil in them. Gp Capt VS Dangwal presented the school souvenir to the Chief Guest.
