Zorawar Cycle Rally Reaches Sainik School Ghorakhal on 16 Mar and Inspires Cadets with Spirit of Adventure and Patriotism
Sainik School Ghorakhal witnessed an inspiring and energetic interaction when the “Zorawar Cycle Rally”, an expedition organized by 12 JAK RIF under the aegis of Panchshul Brigade, reached the school during its journey through the Kumaon region.
The rally ,named after the legendary Dogra General “Zorawar Singh”, aims to revive the inspiring story of the valiant military leader among the youth and promote adventure tourism.
The expedition team, comprising 23 participants including 07 civilians, began its journey from Bareilly on 14 March 2026. The rally is following a challenging and scenic route through Haldwani, Nainital (Sainik School Ghorakhal), Almora, Pithoragarh, Dharchula, Gunji and up to the high-altitude Lipulekh Pass, before culminating at Pithoragarh on 27 March 2026.
At Sainik School Ghorakhal, the rally team was warmly received.The team members had interacted with Gp Capt Madhu Sengar ,the Principal . The team leader Maj Akhil Babu, of 12th Battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, delivered an inspiring lecture to the cadets. In his address, Maj Akhil Babu highlighted the courage, leadership, and indomitable spirit of General Zorawar Singh and encouraged the cadets to imbibe the values of discipline, resilience, and patriotism. He also shared experiences from the ongoing expedition and emphasized the importance of adventure, endurance, and teamwork in building strong character and leadership qualities.
The cadets of Sainik School Ghorakhal got a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with Capt Sourabh Badhani ,an illustrious alumnus of the school.Capt Sourabh Badhani also delivered a highly motivating lecture.
The event concluded with the presentation of a token of affection and remembrance to the Principal by the team leader.
