Maj Gen Rajendra Rai, SM, Chief of Staff and Chairman LBA visited Sainik School Ghorakhal and presided over the LBA meeting on 25 April 2025. On arrival, the Chief Guest was given the Guard of Honor followed by a spectacular band display by cadets.
The meeting was attended by Gp Capt VS Dangwal, the Principal, Prof Deewan S. Rawat Vice Chancellor Kumaon University Nainital, Ms Varuna Agrawal SDM, Nainital, Mr DS Rana, Chief Treasury Officer, Nainital, Shri Pushkar Lal Tamta District Education Officer (Secondary), Ms Sulohita Negi Block Education Officer, Okhalkhanda, Nainital, Mr AK Sharma, Principal Birla Vidya Mandir Nainital, Mr Subhash Bhatt, Parent Member and other guests. The school projected various achievements and presented points for the betterment of the school. The visit was marked by insightful discussions. Chairman, LBA also took time to address and interact with the faculty members and cadets.
He emphasized the role of teachers in the holistic development of the cadets. He commended the school’s commitment to academic excellence, character building and co-curricular activities. The Chairman, LBA lauded the efforts of the school management in fostering an environment conducive to overall development of cadets.
Sainik School Ghorakhal wrapped up GROUP B (Zonal) Football also toady. In Under 17 and Under 15 Boys category, Sainik School Ghorakhal proudly lifted the championship trophy. In Under 17 Girls Category, Sainik School Ghorakhal claimed the Runner up position. In Under 17 Boys category, Cdt Lokesh Rawat of SS Ghorakhal was the ‘Best Scorer’ and Cdt Divyam Bisht was the ‘Best Goalkeeper’. In Under 15 Boys category, Cdt Dhruv Pandey of SS Ghorakhal was the ‘Best Scorer. In Girls category, Cdt Shristy Gangwar of SS Ghorakhal was the ‘Best Scorer’.
Awards and medals were presented to the winners, acknowledging their exceptional dedication and prowess on the field. The Chief Guest
congratulated all the cadets on their exceptional performance in the sports field which truly reflects their teamwork, perseverance, and the high standards. He urged the cadets to imbibe the qualities of honesty, integrity, hard work, dedication, discipline and courage. He shared his wealth of wisdom and advised the cadets to be focused towards their goal.
The success of the Group B Football Tournament not only showcased the sporting prowess of young cadets but also reinforced the school’s commitment to nurturing holistic development among its students. The closing ceremony of the Group B Football Tournament at Sainik School Ghorakhal was a fitting tribute to the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie that defines the essence of competitive sports.
The event concluded with the presentation of the souvenir to the Chief Guest by Gp Capt VS Dangwal, the Principal.
