The Grand Inter School Cross Country Event at Sainik School Ghorakhal
Sainik School Ghorakhal hosted an Inter-School Cross Country Competition as part of its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, showcasing the spirit of endurance, determination, and sportsmanship. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from eight reputed schools of the region: Lakes International School, Bhimtal, De Vito School, Bhowali, GB Pant Inter College Bhowali, Naincy Convent Jeolikote, Parwati Prema Jagati , Bhartiya Shaheed Sainik Vidyalaya, Nainital, Hermann Gmeiner School Bhimtal, including the host school.
The competition was sponsored by the Old Boys Association (OBA), Sainik School Ghorakhal. The continued generous support from Mr Vibhav Srivastava, Organising Secretary Diamond Jubilee Celebrations and Mr Vinod Singh, General Secretary OBA added immense value to the event. The scenic yet challenging route through the hilly terrain of Ghorakhal tested the stamina and grit of all participating athletes.
In a remarkable showcase of fitness, discipline, and teamwork, Sainik School Ghorakhal emerged as the overall champion, securing the first position. Bhartiya Shaheed Sainik Vidyalaya, Nainital claimed the second position, followed by Parwati Prema Jagati in third place. All participating schools put up commendable performances, displaying enthusiasm, dedication, and exemplary sportsmanship
The event witnessed the prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. The event not only fostered healthy competition but also strengthened the bond of camaraderie among participating schools, truly reflecting the spirit of sports and togetherness.
The event concluded with the inspiring address by Gp Capt VS Dangwal, Principal and the vote of thanks delivered by Mr Vibhav Srivastava, Organising Secretary Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
