Kabir Dohe Recital by Bharti Bhandu at Sainik School Ghorakhal under SPIC MACAY: A Mesmerizing Evening

Sainik School Ghorakhal hosted an enlightening and soulful evening on 21 Oct 2024, with renowned singer Swami GCD Bharti commonly known as Bharti Bhandu presenting a captivating recital of Kabir Dohe as part of the SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) series. The event was held in the school’s auditorium and attended by Cadets, staff, and faculty members. Sainik School Ghorakhal welcomed the team of artists. Mrs Sweta Dangwal joined the event as the guest of honour. The event commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by Gp Capt VS Dangwal, the Principal, Mrs Sweta Dangwal and the dignitaries present.

Bharti Bhandu’s melodious voice and deep understanding of Kabir’s teachings brought to life the profound wisdom of the mystic poet, whose dohas emphasize simplicity, devotion and spirituality. Through his performance, he not only entertained but also instilled in the cadets values of compassion, tolerance and self-reflection that are at the core of Kabir’s philosophy.

The event was a part of SPIC MACAY’s mission to promote India’s rich cultural heritage among the younger generation, encouraging them to connect with their roots and appreciate classical art forms. The audience was mesmerized by Bhandu’s presentation, which beautifully blended classical music with the spiritual depth of Kabir’s poetry.

Gp Capt VS Dangwal felicitated the artists and expressed his gratitude to Bharti Bhandu and SPIC MACAY for bringing such an enriching cultural experience to the cadets. He emphasized the importance of exposing young minds to such timeless teachings and thanked the organizers for their efforts in keeping India’s cultural traditions alive in educational institutions.
