Sainik School Ghorakhal celebrated 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. Group Captain VS Dangwal was the Chief Guest and Mrs Sweta Dangwal attended the function as the Guest of Honour. The celebrations began with hoisting of the tricolour by the Chief Guest followed by the march past by cadets. The synchronised movements, the crisp commands, the zeal and enthusiasm of cadets reflected perfect symphony that engrossed everyone present. On the auspicious occasion, cadets delivered speeches reflecting on the incredible journey that led to this day.
After the events, the felicitation ceremony took place. The Principal presented gifts to the General employees to acknowledge and appreciate their hard work.
The event concluded with an inspirational speech emphasizing the importance of independence by Group Captain VS Dangwal. He urged the students to embrace responsibilities as freedom comes with responsibility. He emphasized that they should develop knowledge, skill and aptitude. He elaborated on the importance of ‘critical thinking’ and being ‘creative and innovative’ with reference to NEP 2020. He concluded with John F. Kennedy’s historic words “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” A special tea party was organized for cadets and staff. The event was attended by faculty members, students and distinguished guests.
