Sainik School Ghorakhal Wraps Up GROUP B (Zonal) Football Tournament with Spectacular Closing Ceremony

Ghorakhal, April 27, 2024: Enthusiastic cheers echoed across the grounds as teams from various schools bid farewell to an eventful competition filled with remarkable displays of skill and sportsmanship. Brigadier Rahul Kumar Pathak, Commander, 99 Mountain Brigade, Chaubatiya graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Gp Capt VS Dangwal, Principal Sainik School Ghorakhal received the Chief Guest with warm greetings. Mrs Sweta Dangwal joined as the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests also joined school officials in recognizing the outstanding performances of teams and individuals.

In Under 17 boys category, the final match was played between Sainik School Ghorakhal and Sainik School Jhunjhunu, wherein Sainik School Ghorakhal defeated SS Jhunjhunu by 2-0 and lifted the championship trophy. Sainik School Jhansi was Runner up. Cdt Aneesh Rawat of SSGK was adjudged the ‘Best Player. Cdt Adar Khatri of SSGK was the ‘Best scorer and Cdt Sonu Kapkoti of SSGK won the title of the ‘Best Goalkeeper.

In Under 17 Girls Category also, Sainik School Ghorakhal lifted the championship trophy. Sainik School Jhunjhunu was Runner-up. Cdt Srishti Bameta of SSGK was adjudged the ‘Best Player. Cdt Anushka Gujjar of SS Jhunjhunu was the ‘Best Scorer and Cdt Yangchan Lhamo of SSGK won the title of the ‘Best Goalkeeper. In Under 15 boys category, championship trophy was lifted by SS Jhunjhunu.

Awards and medals were presented to the winners, acknowledging their exceptional dedication and prowess on the field. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as players eagerly awaited their moment of triumph.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Guest underscored the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience among students.
